Example 1: Debugging a misbehaving Switchport

In our example, port 4/1/17 is misbehaving after configuring UNP. We don't know anything that's wrong with our configuration, and we weren't able to find a solution yet.

Our next step is information gathering, either to find a way to fix it, or just to forward it to the next Alcatel Employee, Support or whatever.

Basic Information

SW> show configuration snapshot

SW> show tech-support layer2

SW> show tech-support layer3

Advanced Steps

Please keep in mind: If you want to launch dshell on any other switch chassis than the master, you'll first need to connect to that specific chassis. You can get the IP-Address with the command: debug show virtual-chassis connection

SW> su

SHASTA #-> bshell
